ShowBed Livestock Bedding is the perfect bedding for enhancing your animals for sales, competition or other recreational events, as well as every day use in stalls, arenas, petting areas, sale rings and cages.

ShowBed is available in colorfast green, burgundy and purple, making it uniquely colored bedding at fairs or other events where presentation makes all the difference.

ShowBed is used with cattle, horses, sheep, goats, alpacas, pigs, ducks, turkeys, chickens and other large & small animals.

 
  • Arenas:
    Arenas require less amount of ShowBed. We suggest using about 2" of product or 2lbs. per square foot. The product should be watered down completely, which will allow it to expand to approximately 2.5"-3" in depth and become much more stable and very firm under foot.

    Keep in mind that ShowBed will absorb approximately 150% it own weight in water. Over watering is not a problem as long as ample drainage is available. Watering with a normal water sprinkler is easy and inexpensive way to water. Just turn it on and walk away.

  • Bedding Areas:
    Bedding of animals requires approximately 6lbs. per square foot. This will give you about 6" of bedding. Replacement bedding for a 4 day fair should be about 25% of the initial bedding.

  • Cages:
    For smaller animals and fowl, we recommend the use of approximately 1" in the bottom of the cage. Having a tray or lip around the bottom of the cage will help hold ShowBed inside the cage.

  • Cooling Rooms for Cattle

  • Low Lying Areas That Hold Water or Mud:
    To eliminate muddy or wet areas, simply pour ShowBed in the problem areas. It will absorb the excess moisture and provide a firm footing for people and animals to walk.

  • Cleaning:
    We suggest that ShowBed should be spot cleaned on a regular basis to remove manure and urine contaminated bedding. Regular narrow tined bedding forks with less than ½" space between forks work the best for cleaning. Loose manure from dairy cattle sometimes requires a shovel for more thorough cleaning.

  • Odor Control - Using SciZyme:
    ShowBed is designed to control odor such as urine and ammonia. For more heavily used or soiled areas, we strongly recommend the use of SciZyme. This enzyme spray will naturally help remove the odors from animal urine and manure while also providing a fresh smell that is very pleasing to both your exhibitors and spectators.
